Competition for the position of dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology
The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture provides international-level studies in civil engineering and architecture based on research and innovation, and contributes to the achievement of sustainable environmental goals relevant to the country and the region. The Faculty develops knowledge and technologies responding to the needs of society and disseminates them to students, businesses and the public sector, by preparing highly qualified architects and civil engineers.
The Faculty’s vision is to be a faculty with a strong position in the fields of civil engineering and architecture in Europe, offering high-quality studies and conducting research, while actively contributing to the creation of sustainable cities, infrastructure and the environment, as well as the development of innovative solutions.
Job description
Planning and organising the Faculty’s activities; ensuring the quality of studies, research and innovation activities conducted by the Faculty; managing human resources and assets; and representing the Faculty and the University at the international and national levels;

Requirements
Hold a doctoral degree or be a recognised artist;
Have at least 5 years of experience in managerial and organisational work;
Have at least 5 years of pedagogical and research work experience at the university;
Be familiar with the processes and trends taking place in the European higher education, research and innovation area, as well as the European Union and national documents regulating higher education;
Excellent knowledge of the Lithuanian language;
A minimum level C1 in the English language.

A free-form application for participation in the competition, addressed to the Rector;
A 5-year operational guidelines (a description of the proposed vision and priority objectives for the Institute);
A curriculum vitae (CV);
A brief description of research activities and a list of scientific publications;
A copy of the doctoral diploma;
A verified certificate of proficiency in the Lithuanian language at the Category III level, if Lithuanian is not the applicant’s native language;
A verified certificate (issued no more than 2 years ago) of proficiency in the English language at the level C1, if English is not the candidate’s native language;
Other additional documents reflecting the candidate’s research, academic or managerial activities, qualifications or abilities (at the candidate’s discretion).
Salary offered
7 020 - 8 073 EUR gross (i.e., before taxes).
Employment contract
A fixed-term employment contract (5-year term of office).
