Researcher | 1.0 FTE | Biomedical Imaging Laboratory
Doctor of Science in Measurement Engineering (T010).
Experience in research activities:
- research activities and the dissemination of their results;
- project-based activities.
Language skills: Lithuanian (does not apply to foreign candidates) and English.
Required level of English proficiency: B2.
Knowledge of specific technologies:
- experience working with libraries for 2D and 3D data processing, analysis, and artificial intelligence:
Python: trimesh (3D data processing), Open3D (3D data processing), PyVista (3D visualisation), SciPy (scientific and engineering computations), Kaolin (3D artificial intelligence), PyTorch (artificial intelligence library), scikit-image (2D image processing);
C++: OpenCV (2D/3D image and data processing), libigl (geometry processing), Point Cloud Library (PCL) (3D point cloud processing);- other programming languages: MATLAB, R, C#;
- experience working with metrology software: Geomagic Control X;
- experience working with 3D modelling software: SolidWorks, Rhinoceros 3D/Grasshopper;
- experience developing augmented reality (AR) solutions for devices using Unity and C#.
Work experience with specific equipment: knowledge of augmented reality glasses and optical 3D scanners.
Additional required experience and competencies:
- Experience in developing biomedical 3D data processing solutions in the field of dentistry: point cloud filtering, registration, triangulation, 3D reconstruction, 3D mesh repair and optimisation, surface smoothing, and deformation analysis;
- Experience in analysing tooth and jaw geometry, segmenting anatomical structures, processing digital dental models, and developing solutions for modelling customised implants and prostheses.
Type of employment contract: fixed-term employment contract for a 5-year term.

- a description of academic activities for the position according to the science/artistic: Natural Sciences, Technologies, Medicine and Health Sciences;
- an activity plan for a period of five years;
- a declaration about the mandatory competencies required for a Recognised Researcher;
- a list of the published research and other works compiled by KTU Library or the candidates (if they do not work or study at KTU) and signed by the candidate. The candidates who are not KTU employees are required to submit a free-form list of their published scientific works, including full bibliographic descriptions and DOI (if any);
- additional documents and material proving the candidate's research and pedagogical activities or qualification (at the candidate's discretion).
