• Researcher | 0.5 FTE | Technology Research Laboratory

  Doctor of Science in Chemical Engineering (T005).

  Experience in research activities:

  • experience in preparing applications to attract external competitive funding;
  • experience in carrying out project activities;
  • experience in participating in scientific networks.

  Language skills: Lithuanian (does not apply to foreign candidates) and English.

  Required level of English proficiency: B2.

  Knowledge of specific technologies:

  • biotechnology: fermentation, hydrolysis;
  • biomaterials production technology: microstructural fibre formation technology.

  Work experience with specific equipment:

  • biotechnology: bioreactors, homogenisers, incubation systems;
  • technology for the production of biomaterials: vacuum dryers, UV or plasma activation systems, cross-linking reactors, sterilisation equipment.

  Additional required experience and competencies:

  • knowledge of the organisation of sterile processes, the principles of cell culture, and biosafety requirements;
  • understanding of the trends in the development of cultured meat, alternative proteins, and advanced bio-reformulation technologies;
  • experience in interdisciplinary R&D projects combining food science, social sciences, and sustainability assessment;
  • knowledge of EFSA Novel Food, biosafety, and regulatory requirements in the field of new food technologies is preferred.

  Type of employment contract: fixed-term employment contract for a 5-year term.

  Documents to be submitted:

  • a free-form application for permission to participate in the competition (addressed to the Rector of KTU);
  • a curriculum vitae;
  • copies of higher education diplomas, diplomas of scientific degrees (if data about them is not available in KTU Human Resources System);
  • a description of academic activities for the position according to the science/artistic field: Natural Sciences, Technologies, Medicine and Health Sciences;
  • an activity plan for a period of five years;
  • a declaration about the mandatory competencies required for a Recognised Researcher;
  • a list of the published research and other works compiled by KTU Library or the candidates (if they do not work or study at KTU) and signed by the candidate. The candidates who are not KTU employees are required to submit a free-form list of their published scientific works, including full bibliographic descriptions and DOI (if any);
  • additional documents and material proving the candidate's research and pedagogical activities or qualification (at the candidate's discretion).
